* The itinerary you choose  below is all inclusive with the exception of tips and personal expenses .  If you choose to fly into Nairobi it is necessary to add two days  and the cost of ground transport and hotels to your itinerary. The following prices do not include the accompaniment of a trip leader from Adventure Outfitters.

 

	Marangu Route Sample 6 day itinerary Price: $1050.00 per person Day 1. Arrive Moshi, Tanzania, at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Booked into Hotel for briefing and overnight Day 2. After breakfast drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate.         Register and commence the climb. Walking through the rain forest to Mandara hut. Three to four hour hiking time. ( about 9000 ft)                                                                       Day 3. You now leave the glades of the forest and follow an ascending path on the open moor lands to Horombo hut. Five to seven hours hiking time. ( about 12,000 ft) dinner and overnight. Day 4. Ascending you pass the last watering point, walking onto the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. Arriving at the Kibo hut. Five to six hours hiking time. (about 15,300 ft.)      Day 5. Very early in the morning  (12:30 AM) commence the climb to the summit on steep and heavy scree to Gillman's Point (18,640 ft) this is the crater rim. Continuing we now ascend to Uhuru Peak. This is the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the highest point in Africa (19,340 ft.) From here the party will descend to Kibo for a rest and  continue to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight.                                                                                 Day 6. The descent continues past Mandara hut to the park gate. This is where successful climbers may now collect their well earned certificates. 	Machame/Mweka Combination Route                        Price: $1275.00/per.  Day 1. Arrive in Moshi Tanzania, at the base of Kilimanjaro. Booked into Hotel for briefing and overnight. Day 2. After breakfast drive to Kilimanjaro National Park at the Machame gate. Register and begin climb . Hike through the rain forest to Machame Hut at about 10,000 feet. Dinner and overnight. About 5-6 hours. Day 3. After breakfast your party leaves the glades of the rain forest and continues ascending to about 12,300 ft. Rest, dinner and overnight at the Shira Hut camp site. About 5 hours. Day 4. Continue East and then South East to the Lava Tower called "The Sharks Tooth". You will hike to an altitude of 14,500 feet and descend to 12,600 feet for dinner and overnight. About 5-6 hours. Day 5. After breakfast your party leaves Barranco and continues on a steep ridge passing the Barranco wall passing through the Karanga Valley. You continue to the Barafu Hut at 15,000 feet . Here you make camp, rest and enjoy dinner and overnight.  About 6-7 hours. Day 6. Early morning you continue ascent to Stella Point at 18,848 ft. on way to the summit (Uhuru Peak at 19,340 ft.). This part of the climb takes about 7 hours. You have now reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the highest point in Africa. From the summit your party makes the descent back to the Barafu  campsite for a brief rest and continues to the Mweka camp at about 10,500 feet t for dinner and rest. You could be on your feet for as long as 15 hours on this day. Day 7. After breakfast, descend to the Marangu Park Gate and return to Moshi. for rest and overnight.  About 2-3 hours.   Accommodations on the Machame/Mweka route are in 2/3 person tents.
